mummy's holidays coming to an end....

A mummy never finds enough time to spend with their babies, I think. Meeting will start tomorrow and I would need to leave bb to helper at home. It's a sad thought but I guess we all need to get on with life. No work, no money.

Today I dressed up bb and we got ready to go for her swimming finals at PS. It is unfortunate that her swimming slot is her morning nap time and she is a little uncooperative as she was tired and all she wanted was to go back to nap. Right after her 'not-so-happy-swim', I fed her baby rice and sweetcorn and she fell asleep very soon in Kopitiam. She ended up getting consolation prize. Would return to collect prize cuz we left soon after top 3 winners were announced.

Some more pic to share =)

A few other pretty pic we took along the way =) Think new mummies just can't get enough of their little ones. Must be the first-time mummy syndrome or something!

Her first swim in Hua Xia @ Harbourfront

We happily took the 50% off first trial voucher to Harbourfront yesterday, anticipating her first swim in the tub all by herself. It was exciting~ Even MIL was very amused and happy to see how happy Sihan was.

We also took a few pic for our domestic helper so that she can send the pictures home to her family during Christmas season =)

updates! updates!

Haven't been able to update the pic of bb cuz somehow gmail thought I have converted to Thai and all has changed to Thai lang and I really had no idea how to switch back to UK English. Anyway, good things are worth waiting for..hheh...some pic to share from oct-nov..

My mum carrying Sihan. We took of the graduation gown from Teng's graduation bear. See how fitting it is! haha..

It was Children's Day and she was happy!

Practising her smiles. Hard to capture her smiling as she is so conscious of the black thing waving in between her and me.

I like this!

bb is 7 weeks loh~

Sihan is already 7 weeks old and I am getting used to be an 'auntie' and a 'mummy'. It is terribly difficult to write the job description of a mummy! I shall try and hope it will be out by my next blog posting. No longer as tired as during the confinement month but I still feel much 'unproductive' and unable to do much. Even when I feel like taking a walk out in the shopping centre, I would think twice because I have to bring quite a bit of bb necessities out! talking about being an 'dependent', no other word is more appropriate for babies!

for the past 7 weeks i saw how bb grew... her face changed slowly every day and she is getting more and more responsive. my darling hubby even commented that she refused to look at him 2-3 weeks ago but now when she looks at him for attention, he is usually tied down with something else! hee....

pictures speak a thousand words. rather post pics than to write now. =) pics taken during the newborn makeover..

pic taken during the maternity shots...

more recent bb's pics!! :)

My BB Girl Was Born On 1 Aug

My bb girl was born on 1 Aug 1.59pm and here is her birth story.

31 July - 1+am
* I went to the toilet and found there was some water on my panties but there was no pains nor "show" and so I went back to sleep.

31 Juy - 5.30am
* I saw the pinkish mucus plug and I wonder if THAT IS IT and wonder if I still need to go school that day. After all, my last working day was 1 Aug and my maternity leave only start on 4 Aug!

31 July - afternoon
* After sharing with some colleagues about my "show" and leaking water bag, they looked at me in astonishment and urged to check myself at the hospital.

31 July - 4.30pm
* I contacted Dr Heng and was told to check in that evening and get ready for labour. I was in a daze and yet excited at the same time. I took the hospital bag and picked up hubby in a taxi at his school. Heheh.... fancy having a woman in labour picking her hubby up with her hospital bag. He said his students chided him for "not steady enough". We had a nice pepper crab dinner near to East Shore Hospital.

31 July - 6.25pm
* We checked into the labour ward. Was told to change into patient robe and clear my bowels. Too fast, I thought. I didn't feel the pains then and was still in a playful mood. We decided to take pictures to amuse ourselves and it helped me ease my tensions.

1 Aug - 2.30am
* I was given the drip to induce labout since my bag has leaked for more than 12 hours and my dilation is still very slow. Was told to wait for 9a.m.

1 Aug - 9am
* After playing a few rounds of scrabble with hubby, Dr came in and checked and found my cervix only 2.5cm dilated. ALAMAK! I was already bedridden for more than 12 hours and the cervix was only 2.5cm dilated! Grr.... was given a second packet of drip and wait for 2pm.

1 Aug - 11+am
* I couldn't breath in the laughing gas anymore. I was not laughing anymore. I began to whimper and cried for stronger painkiller. Got a jab in my buttocks. That didn't help. Asked for epidural instead. My wasit down was numb. It was a nasty feeling!

1 Aug - 12+noon
* Nurse told me to breathe in pure oxygen cuz bb is showing distress. She looked worried but I tried to remain calm dispite my discomfort. Dr came in and said it was 8cm dilated and she would go for lunch while I try pushing her out.

1 Aug - 1pm
* In the midst of watching tv, Dr and the two nurses tried to help me with my labour in pushing my darling bb out. She refused to bulge! It was a sign of distress for bb. Poor thing! I tried to push when I was there was a contraction and while there was none, my attention was on the TV although I couldn't make out what was going on. Hubby was tensed.

1 Aug - 1.59pm
* With great great effort and the use of vacuum, bb was pulled out! She did not yell nor scream. She did made some small cries though. Hubby said he was dead worried about what happened to baby. I couldn't think as I began to vomit non-stop. My milo and other semi-digested breakfast was threw out. In between my vomits, there was also much movement "down there". I felt water and something slimy coming out from me. Hubby said he was very shocked to see how dirty I made the floor to be. I expelled blood, urine and placenta and it even nearly hit the Dr. I can't think then.

1 Aug - 2.15pm
* Bb was placed on my chest for a mere second before she was wheeled away for observation. Hubby was with me, holding my hands, kissing me and consoling me in every way he could. I closed my eyes and rested for almost an hour before I was conscious about my environment.

38th Week of Pregnancy ..

Today is my 38th week of pregnancy and our baby princess is on her way! =)

Have been pretty lazy in updating my blog and wonder how some people are able to find so much to write and reveal about their personal life. I am still torn between to share "openly" or "discreetly" about my (now married and pregnant) life.

Today I draw up a WISH LIST as friends have been asking me "what do you want us to get for you or your baby?" It is a tough question to answer! Well, heres my list:

1) Moms-in-mind Baby Pouch (M-size). I saw the pictures last evening and find the contrasting and playful colours so pretty pretty. Nice to have one.

2) Cot bumper set, preferably Classic Pooh series. We have ordered a white baby cot measuring measuring 30" by 52" (I think) and yet to purchase a second cot set for the baby yet. The Classic Pooh bumper set that we saw in John Little and other leading departmental stores look so sweet and pretty to go together with the white cot.

3) Bumwear prefolds or one-size diaper covers. We already have six diaper covers but they are so attractive! Who can resist having more than just 6 since young babies pee up to 12 times a day?

4) Baby Bjorn Synergy/Air Carrier. Hubby and I have been struggling about getting one of such carrier. He claims that it's so "unmanly" for him to hold a baby in a sarong sling (it makes him look like a man-maid..kekeke) and yet we are still unsure if we should get one from Mothercare....tsk.

5) Medela milk storage bags. Practical purchase. I have got my Medela Swing breast pumps and getting Medela storage box. The next item I need would be the Medela milk storage bags.... many of them since I am intending (pretty determined) to feed my baby expressed breast milk (ebm they call it) till she turns 1year old.

6) Baby playmat. Hahah, I know we are getting a bit K.S. here. Baby's not born yet and we are thinking of bb crawling and walking already. Hahha.

7) Books or other reading resources on baby's sign language or baby's language. Recently read about decoding baby's cries and that seems so interesting. Unsure where to get them though.

8) Simply vouchers. NTUC, Aussino, Takashimay, whatever!

9) Cash/ Ang Baos<. We are intending to start a baby's fund account as soon as she is born!

:)
